Hey. I'm the person behind CleanCast. I didn't set out to build a company — I just wanted to clean up my own voice notes and videos without paying another monthly subscription.
The existing options felt off. CapCut is powerful but expensive if you actually use it. Adobe Podcast is great but requires an account and uploads your files. Krisp is for calls, not recordings. Everything else was either $15/month, watermarked, or shipped your audio to somebody else's server.
I already knew you could run a solid noise-removal model right in the browser. So I strung one together, wrapped it in a design I'd actually want to use, and left it online.
Three rules
- Free forever. Because your device does the work, there's no server bill to pass to you.
- Nothing leaves your machine. Audio and video are processed locally in your browser. There is no upload.
- Original quality kept. Your 4K video stays 4K. Only the audio track gets swapped for a cleaner one.
If it saves you a subscription, tell a friend. If it becomes part of your workflow and you want to help keep it going, there'll be an optional tip jar and, eventually, a small "Pro" tier for people with long files and batch jobs. Everything the app does today will stay free.
