Step 1 — Open CleanCast Audio
Go to cleancast.xyz/audio. No install, no signup.
Step 2 — Drop your file in
Drag your recording into the drop zone or tap to choose. CleanCast reads it into your browser's memory — nothing is uploaded.
Step 3 — Set noise strength
Start at 80%. If the voice starts sounding thin or "underwater", back off. If you can still hear obvious hum or hiss, push higher. The waveform redraws so you can see the difference visually.
Step 4 — Export lossless WAV or 320k MP3
Preview the before / after with the A/B toggle, then download. WAV keeps every bit; MP3 gives you a smaller file that still sounds great.
What kinds of noise does it kill?
- Fan and AC hum
- Constant background hiss (mic self-noise, tape hiss)
- Room noise and mild reverb
- Keyboard clatter, distant traffic, wind, coffee-shop chatter
FAQ
What audio formats does CleanCast accept?
MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG/OGA, FLAC and WebM — up to 500 MB per file.
Will I lose audio quality?
You can export as lossless WAV to keep every bit of quality, or as 320 kbps MP3 if you need a smaller file. There's no re-encoding penalty on the WAV path.
Does it work on music?
It's tuned for voice recordings — podcasts, interviews, voiceovers, voice notes. On music it can suppress hiss and hum, but strong settings may soften cymbals or reverb tails.
